What Is Myra Marshall Eating?

by Myra on November 21, 2011

Natural, competitive female bodybuilder. I lift heavy, dislike cardio, love high-fat/moderate protein/low-carb eating. My foods are as natural as possible, organic when possible, and my workouts are basic, grunt-inducing, archaic, specific to growth and shaping my body effectively, in as little time as possible by kicking my own butt every time. I do not believe in wasting time when at the gym, it's always all-out effort. Oh, and I'm a butcher's assistant and a sheep farmer in Alberta, Canada. Read more from this author

People ask me what I eat. They have a special interest in how many calories and what the macros are. Honestly, off-season I do not count. My head can’t take it. It is easy for me to think too much and obsess.

Here’s an idea of what I eat in a day though, just in case anyone wants to see.

While making breakfast I usually grab a small handful of almonds.

Breakfast is usually anywhere from 2-4 whole eggs fried in coconut oil and I eat a couple sliced tomatoes on the side, some salsa, and half an avocado.  Or sometimes I make pancakes with eggs, pumpkin, and coconut flour and top with butter, lots of butter. 2 coffees with 2 big tablespoons of full-fat coconut milk in them.

Snack I have lots of vegetables, carrots, cucumber, celery, or a salad and some meat, organic sausages, a pork chop, random steaks, or chicken with skin. If I do not have any leftovers then I have a handful of nuts with my veggies.

Lunch is the same as snack and my afternoon snack is usually leftover lunch.

For supper I usually have a grass-fed steak or dark-meat chicken with skin, but I love fatty pork chops too, a salad with olive oil, maybe some apple cider vinegar, and some roasted veggies of some description. I love roasted onions, tomatoes, and zucchini. But I also eat a lot of mashed cauliflower.

If I feel like something sweet at night I might make some “protein fudge” in a bowl. Just mix coconut oil, chocolate protein powder, cocoa, and either some coconut milk or water, just until it all incorporates.

How many calories do I eat in a day?  I don’t know. If I had to guess, I’d say about 3000.

I randomly snack on almonds at home too.

Well, I wanted to include some photos. I have to go downstairs and help install our heat lines right now though, so I am a bit pressed for time.

I will do a photo blog soon though.

Thanks for reading and quit over-thinking it.

All the best,

Myra

A great article Myra! I love the last part – “…and quit over-thinking it.”

Truer words were never written – unless maybe by Mark. :P

I tell people the same thing – I don’t track my calories. I ball-park my macros and just eat sensibly. If my body tells me I’m hungry, I’m clearly behind on a meal or some vital needs and I take care of it. Interesting that you fry in coconut oil. I’ll have to give that a shot!

Take care Myra!

That sounds a lot like what I eat!!! I’m new to the coconut oil though. I have some, I just haven’t used it much. I think I’ll try frying my eggs in it now! I have never tried coconut milk. It sounds great, but I’ll have to look at how many carbs it has. I’m sure I can work it in there! Thanks for sharing Myra! Have a great day! :)
