I read your recent email regarding having only a protein shake for breakfast/boosting T & HGH levels, and have a couple of questions.

First, I've read several articles regarding Intermittent Fasting and it's effect on hormone levels and I can see how no carbs or very low carbs can prevent the insulin surge and help boost hormone levels, so your advice seems pretty sound. However, I use Body Fortress brand whey protein and it contains 5 grams of fat and 8 grams of carbs. Would this amount of carbs cause the insulin surge and depress hormone levels?

Second, do you mix with milk or just water? I would think that milk would also add lots of fat and some additional carbs.

Thanks again for all your workout and diet info. I've been using I.F. a few days a week and instead of eating big for gains I've been eating salad, chicken breasts and salmon, with way less carbs and junk food, and seeing some results as the abs are starting to show through!

@aznewsboy First I always take my whey with water. At a stretch unsweetened almond milk is a choice as it's very low cal.

Your whey is probably ok. I imagine that 8g carbs is per 100g?

So for every 50g powder, it's 4g carbs. Don't worry about that. However, after it's finished I would advise you get impact whey from myprotein:

GO TO MYPROTEIN USA http://tidd.ly/1f215bbf
GO TO MYPROTEIN UK/EUROPE http://tidd.ly/5d0c699b
